The Candidate will undertake an essential role in managing Canadian Rockies International Investment Group Ltd.’s operations. The Candidate is expected to work independently and cooperatively with Canada Rockies International Investment Group Ltd. The Candidate will have wide latitude in decision making including the allocation of resources, setting policy, strategic planning for the company's overall operation, direct control and evaluation of the company's current performance. This is a very senior position, and only qualified candidates will be considered and interviewed. We are expecting someone who can lead the company's overall operation. The Candidate will report to the Director.
Allocate material, human and financial resources to implement company policies and programs;
In charge of the company's overall operation, assist the company to restructure current departments;
Determine or approve of company overall personnel planning, including middle managers;
Determine which mining projects to pursue based on financial and feasibility evaluation & criteria;
Ensure production quotas and procedures are met;
Operation Control & Evaluation
Oversee & plan for all mine's operation, including campsites management and coordination, may direct peripheral activities such as the construction of access roads, mine construction, temporary living quarters, etc.
Determine the feasibility of various mines based on quantitative and qualitative factors before any project starts;
Establish financial and administrative controls with respect to operations;
Evaluate the efficiency of production sites to determine the adequacy of personnel, equipment and technologies used;
Ensure the company operates and complies with various government policies, including HSE (Health, Safety & Environment Policies), Employment Standard Acts of BC, and other policies;
Represent the company in various negotiations with government or other 3rd parties as the company's vice president of operation;
Set operational, tactical, and strategic goals;
Recommend and report operational, tactical, and strategic changes to the Director;
B.A.Sc in earth science, mine engineering or related field is required; (Master's level degree or equivalent would be an asset) Education can be reconsidered with more than 15 years of experience especially in the natural resources industry and a deep understanding of mining company operations.
At least Eight years or more senior management or executive level experience in the natural resources industry is required;
A firm understanding of mine operation (including machine operation, personnel planning, campsite operation management, and understand various Canadian government policies) will be questioned during the interview;
Supervised and managed at least 10 people;
Ability to lead the company's overall operation and assist the company in building a strong relationship and working collaboratively within the corporate and regional business settings;
Ability to travel frequently both domestically and internationally;
Able to work on and supervise remote campsites if required;
Preference will be given to Canadians and permanent residents;
